Bicholim Free Legal Aid Cell of
V.M.Salgaocar College of Law organised a legal literacy programme on 13th of
December 2015 at Ideal School, Pilgao, Bicholim, Goa.
Mr. Rajendra Kerkar, a well-known
environmentalist and conservationist, spoke on “The legal and social facets of
Mhadei issue" highlighting the major aspects of Interstate water dispute
concerning Mhadei River between Goa and Karnataka. He also spoke about conserving
water and impact of water pollution; and issues relating to mining and impact
of the same.
This was followed by a presentation on "Biodiversity of
Goa" by Mr. Paresh Parab, RFO in Forest Department of Goa, wherein he showed
pictures of different species of
Prof. Amod Shirali, the faculty
in charge of Bicholim Cell attended the program.
The Student in charge Ms.Sunita Tari spoke about the services
rendered by the legal aid cells of the College. Mr.Harshawardhan Garde introduced the
guests and vote of thanks was given by Mr. Mandar Naik. Miss Dhanada
Manerkar was the comperer.
